There's a Reason You're Here

When a parent dies, everything changes.

You've lost one of the people who loved you first. Our parents introduced us to the world, showed us how to navigate life.

A parent's absence is loud. Nothing is as you expected it to be or wanted. When a parent dies, roles can change, family dynamics may shift, traditions may be altered.

It's so important to tend to your grief and give it the time and space that it needs. But so often family and friends just don't get it. They tell us to get over it or to move on.

Whether your parent was your role model or if you had an imperfect relationship, the grief can be profound.

David Kessler is leading a 5-week series on Grieving Fully and Living Fully for anyone who is grieving the death of a parent.

You'll learn to attend to your grief and navigate the rocky terrain of this devastating loss, to create a path forward and remember with more love than pain.

We'll cover the so often overlooked topics including, regrets, guilt, secrets, and the what-ifs and if-onlys that so often keep us up at night.

In the years that followed, his father was his everything until he died when David was in his thirties. For most of David's life, he has taught physicians, nurses, counselors, police, and first responders about the end of life, trauma, and grief. However, despite his vast knowledge of grief, his life was turned upside down by the sudden death of his twenty-one-year-old son. It inspired him to write his newest and most personal book, Finding Meaning.
