Release the Burden of Guilt in Grief

So often, when a loved one dies, we experience guilt. When we get stuck in the story of guilt we may find ourselves revolving instead of evolving. We think about the past and ask ourselves, "What if" and, "If only". In this video, David Kessler explains an exercise to help examine and release the burden of guilt to remember with more love than pain.

Releasing Guilt

In this video, I talk about the idea of scientific theory that we learned in school. In order for a scientific theory to be true, it has to be replicable. We want to test those theories when it comes to our loved one's death.

We also talk about Ocom's Razor. The simplest answer is almost always the truth. Webster's definition of Occom's Razor is that the simplest of competing theories be preferred to the more complex or that explanations of unknown phenomena be sought first in terms of known quantities. So often, our minds want to complicate the stories around the deaths of our loved ones.

Download the worksheet to do some testing and test your theories. You will test your self-blaming thoughts against the facts about your loved one's death.
