Joshua Coleman, PhD, is a psychologist in private practice, a Senior Fellow with the Council on Contemporary Families, and one of the world’s leading experts on family estrangement. He’s the author of five books, including The Rules of Estrangement: Why Adult Children Cut Ties and How to Heal the Conflict, which The New York Times named “One of the five books most recommended by researchers on estrangement.”

His forthcoming book, Estrangement Reconciliation Therapy: A New Model for Treating Family Conflict, is the first comprehensive clinical guide to treating family estrangement for mental health professionals. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and chapters on estrangement, contributes frequently to The Atlantic and The Washington Post, and has provided trainings for the American Psychological Association, Stanford University, Weill Cornell Department of Psychiatry, UC Irvine Department of Psychiatry, and other leading institutions.

David Kessler is a grief specialist, speaker, and author of six books, including his latest bestselling book, Finding Meaning: The Sixth Stage of Grief. He co-authored two books with Elisabeth Kübler-Ross. His first book, The Needs of The Dying, received praise from Saint (Mother) Teresa.

David’s personal experience as a child witnessing a mass shooting while his mother was dying in a hospital helped him begin his journey. For most of his life, he has taught physicians, nurses, counselors, police, and first responders about the end of life, trauma, and grief. Despite his vast knowledge of grief, his life was turned upside down by the sudden death of his twenty-one-year-old son.

He now facilitates a new model of online grief groups attended by people worldwide and leads one of the most respected online grief certificate programs. He is the founder of Grief.com, which has over five million visits yearly from 167 countries.
