Enroll NowWhen Grief Becomes Something More
When Your Grief Feels More Like Survival Than Sadness
When grief feels overwhelming, intrusive, or impossible to regulate…
Feelings of guilt won't loosen…
Your body won't settle…
And it all feels overwhelming in a way people don't understand…
It may not simply be "complicated grief" or "prolonged grief."
It may be trauma that's woven into your loss.
You might be experiencing:
- Thoughts that loop and guilt that won't let you rest
- A chronically tight chest or throat
- Extreme difficulty concentrating
- Exhaustion, disrupted sleep, and bad dreams
- Flashbacks of images or intense memories
- A harsh inner critical voice that puts you down
- Constant hyper-vigilance and intense reactions
These are all signs your grief has trauma.
That trauma can come directly from experiencing a sudden, shocking loss, or the loss can open old traumas from your past or childhood that you thought were healed. Either way, it's traumatic grief.
And healing from traumatic grief requires something different.

Your Guide
About David Kessler
David Kessler knows traumatic grief firsthand. As a child, he witnessed a mass shooting while his mother was dying in a hospital. Decades later, his twenty-one-year-old son David died suddenly — a loss that shattered everything he thought he knew about grief.
David is one of the world's foremost experts on grief and loss. He's the author of six bestselling books, including Finding Meaning: The Sixth Stage of Grief, and co-authored On Grief and Grieving with Elisabeth KĂĽbler-Ross. For most of his life, he has taught physicians, nurses, counselors, police, and first responders about trauma and grief.
His work is informed by both professional expertise and personal survival — and his deep belief that there is hope, even after life's most devastating losses.
From David
A Personal Note from David
Welcome. If you're here, it likely means life changed in a way you never would have chosen.
Traumatic loss can leave us shocked, disoriented, and questioning everything we thought we knew about the world.
As a grief and loss expert with decades of experience and a bereaved person, traumatic loss isn't theoretical — it's a lived experience.
So I bring this support program as my way of sharing with you that there is hope. When you understand what happens when trauma and grief get woven together, you can learn how to more safely navigate and attend to the pain inside and watch it slowly transform.
We will talk honestly about what hurts, what confuses us, and what can begin to help. You will gain practical tools and, just as important, connection.
I am honored you're here. We will walk this together.
Sincerely,
David Kessler
Still Unsure?
If You're Still Unsure…
That's okay. When your nervous system has been overwhelmed, caution is wise.
You might be thinking:
"I should be able to handle this on my own."
Getting understanding does not mean you're weak. You will simply be given clarity, tools, and language for what you're already carrying.
"Maybe this isn't really trauma."
Learning what's happening inside you does not make the grief bigger. It makes it more understandable and manageable.
"What if I'm just weak?"
You can do this program at your own pace and pause at any time. There are no deadlines, no pressure, and no expectation that you "get over it."
